Center Point Day Program

Center Point Day Program located at Diakon Wilderness Center is an educational program designed to meet the needs of adjudicated youth requiring placement as determined by juvenile courts and Children and Youth agencies in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. In addition, placement can be made by the districts for truancy, weapons/drug violations and transition program from placements or probation. Center Point Day Program does have access to on-site drug and alcohol counseling. The educational program utilizes facilities operated by Diakon Youth Services/Center Point Day Program. Educational services are provided by the CAIU to youth between the ages of 13 and 18 years old; regular and special education. Placement for these students vary. It can be up to eight months or more to complete the required program.

The primary goals of the educational program are to assess the current academic level of the youth and provide a high quality educational program in a structured setting and assist with credit recovery to acquire the goal of graduation from their home district.

Instruction is provided by certified regular and special education teachers and supported by educational paraprofessionals. Communication with home districts has been ongoing to insure a smooth transition and reintegration into community as youth are discharged from this program.
