Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units

paiuIntermediate Units were formed in 1971, in accordance with the PA School Code, to meet local school districts’ needs by providing high quality, cost-efficient programs and services. While each intermediate is unique in both their name and location, all IUs generally provide programs and services in curriculum and professional development, instructional media, school leadership, special education, and technology. All 29 intermediate units in Pennsylvania belong to the Pennsylvania Association of Intermediate Units (PAIU), a professional association which works closely with the PA Department of Education to achieve success for all students.
